I find that discomfort in the wrists is quite common in beginning students and have found that [...] long (or at all, in the case of injuries) is another way the process can be eased for students.

Have a sense of humor. It's not going to be perfect. Yoga classes are a leaning experience for everyone involved.

For something to start with, try starting with abdominal breathing. Nothing fancy. Inhale 5 seconds and exhale for 5 [...] this in my yoga classes. It gets people out of their heads and into their body.
